SPORTS THERAPIST Ifan Thorne MSc, BSc, MSST
Services Explained
Injury Treatment and Rehabilitation
Starting with your first Consultation and Treatment session, we will go through a thorough assessment so as to establish a detailed impression of your needs. You can expect to be asked a lot of questions, and we'll go through a range of movements and muscle or ligament tests, before we move on to your treatment.
Any follow-up sessions would then look to build on this, with further assessments to establish weaknesses or muscle imbalances which might be holding you back, or could predispose you to future injury. My aim is to leave you better equipped than ever for sport, and more resilient to injury - through a progressive treatment plan, and also through education on your training (and recovery) habits.
Treatments you can expect to receive will include sports massage and stretching, passive mobilisations, rehabilitative exercises (including homework!), and more sports specific training sessions (if required) to really test whether you are fit for competition.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage can be beneficial in many ways to athletes negotiating a busy competition and training schedule, or as a treatment for injury. You may of course find other uses for massage, personal to your own exercise regimen.
Certain techniques use quite firm and intense feeling pressures, which you might find uncomfortable. I will work with you to find a level that you can tolerate.
